Forest For the Trees — Original Painting

Forest For the Trees draws the viewer into a sun-warmed stand of ponderosa pines. Tall, rhythmic trunks rise through layers of deep evergreen, coral, blush, and golden light, while richly built bark texture invites a closer look at the individual character of every tree.

As part of the painting process, Suzanne incorporated vanilla and caramel essential oils into the textured bark, echoing the naturally sweet aroma often associated with sun-warmed ponderosa pine. The oils are part of the artwork’s materials and story; scent intensity may naturally change over time.

This one-of-a-kind acrylic painting is created on a 1.5-inch-deep gallery-wrap canvas. The composition continues around the wrapped edges, giving the large-scale original a finished presence from every angle.
